The President of Trinity International University should:

Be a mature follower of Jesus Christ, with theological acuity, a faith-integrated life, and a heart for kingdom ministry
Live the values of integrity, trust, service, and respect for others
Subscribe fully to the EFCA statement of faith and core values and be committed and prepared to defend them. (The president will hold or obtain ministerial credentials with the EFCA, either a Certificate of Ordination or a Certificate of Christian Ministry.)
Possess a godly perspective of the world and its need, the church and its mission, and the role of TIU in developing spiritual leaders to minister globally, as evidenced by enthusiastic support and a commitment to the continuing implementation of the Trinity vision
Respect people from diverse theological and denominational backgrounds
Sense a call from God to lead TIU during the next phase of its growth and worldwide impact

The President of Trinity International University should:

Have a deep commitment to academic excellence and a level of personal accomplishment that reflects this commitment (i.e., an earned doctorate from an accredited and respected institution)

The President of Trinity International University should:

Have a demonstrated ability to lead in financial advancement and to promote university fund-raising objectives both in public settings and in personal contact with prospective donors
Be a seasoned leader, with the proven ability to lead a large, multi-faceted organization, including the budgeting, financial management, and administrative process, who fully supports the integrated but diverse educational missions of the university (i.e. seminary, college, graduate school, law school, and adult completion programs)
Be a skilled decision-maker - caring, but strong natured and able to make hard decisions and support and establish policy
Have the confidence to argue and debate with real data; have a strong tactical implementation inclination - with a focus on results and outcome
Possess financial management skills to guide and support the staff in issues of fiscal policy and investment and institutional debt, and have an understanding of the relationship between planning and budgeting
Evidence a demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and lead senior executive administrators; have a strong sense of what motivates people and the ability to position them in the organization so that they are functioning at their best and the goals of TIU are being met

The President of Trinity International University should:

Be able to develop relationships at all levels, in both professional and social settings
Possess a contagious enthusiasm for people and a personal integrity that never forfeits the trust that is offered
Be a well-rounded communicator in oral, written, and technological media
Be accessible to students and prominently visible in many aspects of the life of the university, including support of student organizations, the arts, and athletics
Be noted for a collaborative, yet decisive, spirit in dealing with all campus constituencies
Be skilled in telling the story of Trinity International University and advancing the mission of TIU among all constituencies, including maintaining effective relationships and communication with the EFCA, with the evangelical church movement worldwide, alumni, friends, students, potential students, professional organizations, and donors

The President of Trinity International University should:

Have the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with individuals and organizations in the region and around the world to advance the academic programs of TIU
Have a love for all peoples and a commitment to encourage diversity within the administration, faculty, and student body that mirrors the global mission of the university
