A Message from Trinity's Board of Regents Chairman

Updated March 28, 2007

On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, Trinity President Dr. Greg Waybright accepted the call to serve as senior pastor of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California. He will conclude his time at Trinity and begin his new role at Lake Avenue later this summer. With the integrity we have come to expect from him, the president kept me in close communication throughout this process and officially informed the Trinity community of his candidacy for the position in February.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express a deep sense of gratitude to Greg and thankfulness to God for the impact his leadership has had on our university over the last twelve years. One of the many legacies Greg leaves behind is the strong leadership currently in place within our Board of Regents and executive leadership team, who will guide Trinity not only through this transition period but beyond it. We continue to be led by Trinity's Vision 2013 in all that we do on behalf of the university. The Board of Regents is confident that Trinity will make progress toward the vision, even during a time of transition, because of the leaders who are in place throughout the university.

We will continue to keep you informed throughout this process. We will create a presidential search committee, which may include representation from the Board of Regents, the EFCA Board, faculty, alumni, and others. Please be in prayer for this committee as it assembles and begins to work through the complex process of finding our new president. Visit this page for current updates: www.tiu.edu/president.

Upon Dr. Waybright's departure, our executive vice president, Dr. Jeanette Hsieh, will continue to handle all the day-to-day functions of the university, and also serve as interim president. I have great confidence in Dr. Hsieh and her leadership team.

Please join me in prayer, for wisdom and discernment in our decision-making and planning and particularly that God would prepare Trinity's next president for this next season. Please also pray with me that God would use this situation to further propel Trinity toward Vision 2013.Bob Kleinschmidt, Chairman, Trinity International University Board of Regents
