    Harold J. Baxter, PhD

    Harold J. Baxter is associate professor of English at Trinity International University's Trinity College. He came to Trinity in 1989 after holding several teaching positions, such as department chair/teacher at Norfolk Christian High School, adjunct professor of Film Studies at CBN University Graduate School, and instructor at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.

     

    Dr. Baxter received the Bachelor of Arts in English and writing at Houghton College in Houghton, New York, the Bachelor of Divinity in New Testament at the Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, the Master of Theology in New Testament at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Master of Arts in humanities at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Doctor of Humanities at Florida State University.

     

    Dr. Baxter's areas of expertise include 20th century American literature, American film, classical American music, and 20th century American art. He has written a book, Shadows and Fog, on thinking Christianly at the movies.
