Josh Thomas is finishing up his PhD at Iowa State University. His thesis title is "The effects of step uncertainty on impact peaks, shock attenuation, and knee/subtalar synchrony while running on a treadmill." His area of specialization is biomechanics, and his focus is the lower extremity of the human body during gait. Josh was married in 2005, and he and his wife, Jeanne, live in Arlington Heights. In his spare time Josh enjoys running, playing, and watching sports, reading, and playing video games. His interests also include Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, the Indiana Hoosiers, and the Kansas City Royals.

Before joining the Trinity faculty, Professor Voss taught at Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Western University. As director of the School of Human Performance and Wellness, he has developed Trinity’s wellness program and its newest major, Athletic Training. He is a certified lifestyle counselor in weight control and stress management. Professor Voss is affiliated with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; National Association for Collegiate Athletic Directors; and National Intramural Recreational Sports Association.
