Grants
These gifts are given in cases of financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and do not require repayment. Gift aid is available from federal government, state governments, Trinity, churches, and outside sources.
Church Match Grant
This grant is available to every Trinity student. If your church donates funds toward your education Trinity will match that donation up to $1,000 for each academic year. Applications and checks must be received before the first day of classes. Click here for an application.
Federal Pell Grant
This is a need-based grant used to pay for tuition, fees, room, board, and living expenses. The maximum amount of this award is $4,731.
Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant
This is a need-based grant used to pay for tuition and fees. The maximum amount of this award is $1,400 (based on availability of funds at Trinity).
Illinois Monetary Award Program
This is a need-based grant used to pay for tuition and mandatory fees. The maximum amount of this award is $4,471.
Illinois Incentive for Access
This is a need-based grant awarded to freshman. The amount of this grant is $500.
Trinity Opportunity Grant
This is a need-based grant awarded to full-time students. Amount varies depending on need.

Trinity Out-of-State Grant
This is a need-based grant awarded to full-time students who are non-Illinois residents with an EFC less than $9,000. The maximum amount of this award is $3,000.

Trinity Church Partnership Grant
Awarded to students who are members or regular attendees of churches that give a minimum financial gift to Trinity each year. Contact your church or the Financial Aid Office for details. Award varies from $500-$2,000.

Trinity Entitlement Grants
These grants are awarded to full-time students. Students may be eligible to receive a maximum of 3 of the following grants.

Family Educational Opportunity Grant This $500 grant is awarded to students who have other family members pursuing a degree as a full-time student at Trinity.

Diversity Grant This grant supports ethnic diversity at Trinity by awarding $500 to non-Caucasian U.S. citizens.

Alumni Grant This $500 grant is awarded to students with at least one parent who graduated from Trinity.

Christian Service Grant This grant supports pastors or missionaries by awarding $500 to their son or daughter who is attending Trinity.
- Evangelical Free Church Grant This $1,000 grant is awarded to students who are members or regular attendees at an Evangelical Free Church.
Golden Apple Scholarship Grant
Beginning in April of their junior year and continuing through November of their senior year, any Illinois high school student who is interested in a teaching career is eligble for the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program. To apply, students must first be nominated for the program by a teacher, counselor, principal or other non-family adult. Students may also self-nominate.
